The Psychology of Building

Doing a First floor Extension or an out-the-back addition involves different issues to that of building a new house. While a new house is being constructed, clients usually do not live on site, they are isolated away from day-to-day issues that arise.

In the case of renovations and extensions, the majority of clients live on site. This is very cost effective and in some ways less disruptive than moving out or living with the in-laws, and organising storage of household items. But, they do however, endure the day-to-day activities of a construction site, and all the issues that go hand-in-hand with building. For some people this can be a daunting experience.

KPG Quality Constructons has observed these issues and have identified the stages of psychology clients go through while construction is in progress. To make these issues less daunting we share these stages with the client to help them prepare for the forth coming intrusion into their lives, and educate them as to the various processes that take place while the work is being carried out. We see this as being responsible in the Duty of Care to our clients.
